AIM is manufactured by CZ Electronics; a proudly South African Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), founded in 1998, that is empowering local people in need of employment, and boosting an economy in need of some good news.
The AIM products you see on the shelves at Pick n Pay are, for the most part, assembled by black women. In fact, the majority of CZ’s 300 strong workforce is made up of previously disadvantaged women. This is all part of CZ’s Ulwazi Empowerment Initiative, which was created to provide a platform of opportunity and growth for people who would otherwise be disenfranchised.
The people CZ Electronics employs are mostly young school leavers with matric qualifications and no previous electronics experience. They are given a three-month assessment that provides an opportunity to work in various areas of the assembly processes. And based on where exactly they shine during this process, management decides on the appropriate training for them to further their career in the company.
On the job training then begins and ultimately, the employee gains a certificate that will allow them to work – not only at CZ Electronics but also at any similar company. CZ Electronics aims to create careers wherever it can, while providing the public with affordable, quality electronics – for South Africans, by South Africans.
Besides the skills they gain on the job, CZ also encourages employees to further their studies at various Technical colleges, in some cases, covering their course and study material costs. CZ also offers time off at full pay so that employees can attend part-time classes to further enhance their skills.

Watching South Africans learn and grow within the company and building a better economy through equal opportunity is something we pride ourselves on a great deal.
